Supermarket News: Walmart Announces New Executive Changes

As part of its efforts to enhance the omnichannel customer experience, Walmart Canada made a flurry of executive appointments, including three in the C-suite.
This includes the first woman to serve as Chief Operating Officer in Walmart International, Nabeela Ixtabalan, who will be overseeing the operations and performance of more than 400 stores from coast to coast. The supermarket giant also named Laurent Duray as chief e-commerce officer who will lead a cross-functional team to spur the growth of Walmart’s e-commerce site, Walmart.ca. Sam Wankowski and John Bayliss have also been promoted as chief merchandising officer and executive vice president respectively.

We recognise and promote great talent,” mentioned Walmart Canada’s President and CEO Horacio Barbeito in a statement.??“I am extremely proud and excited for what Nabeela, Sam, Laurent and John will offer our customers as we continue to modernise and transform our business,” he added.
